Thought for the Day

Thought for the Day March 27

You get the power to overcome drinking through the fellowship of other alcoholics who have found the way out. You get power by honestly sharing your past experience by a personal witness. You get power by coming to believe in a Higher Power, the Divine Principle in the universe which can help you. You get power by working with other alcoholics. In these four ways, thousands of alcoholics have found all the power they needed to overcome drinking. Am I ready and willing to accept this power and work for it?

Meditation for the Day

The power of God’s spirit is the greatest power in the universe. Our conquest of each other, the great kings and conquerors, the conquest of wealth, the leaders of the money society, all amount to very little in the end. But he who conquers himself is greater than he who conquers a city. Material things have no permanence. But God’s spirit is eternal. Everything really worthwhile in the world is the result of the power of God’s spirit.

Prayer for the Day

I pray that I may open myself to the power of God’s spirit. I pray that my relationships with others may be improved by this spirit.

If You Blog It They Will Come

I was always told to share my story, So I started this blog

I have been sharing some of my of past and some of my thoughts on recovery but I never thought in a million years that there would be so many others out there that can relate to my writings.  I guess that is what I get for thinking. It is always nice to know that you are not alone and that there are others that feel the same way you do.

I take breaks to go and read other blogs that have been posted and shared  and I’m finding out more and more that I dont have to struggle as much as I do in being honest and sharing because I’m not alone. I’m truly grateful for all of my readers, followers, and commentator’s. It helps me to stay humble, blessed, and compassionate. So for all of my readers that have visited my blog  I’m  grateful for you all. Please keep sharing with me as this gives me hope.  It is always nice to hear some of your stories.

Never, ever did I think t that there was so many kind and compassion hearts in so many people and for this I just want to say ” I’m Grateful”.

Facing your past

Everyone has a past. Most of us dont like to deal with our past unless we are forced to deal with it.  I’m no angel by any means but I’m grateful I have dealt with my past and was given the tools to move on.  I have found by dealing with my emotional, physical, sexual, and mental abuse in the past I was able to understand and forgive. Compassion is all I have now and I feel sorry for those who refuse to deal with the truth because they will never know that new freedom and happiness that comes with learning about yourself and dealing with life through new eye’s. My whole outlook on life has changed from me being able to look at how I was dealing with people, places, and situations and I was able to learn how to deal with them in a different way. Today I have peace and serenity because I use the 12 step program to deal with every situation that may sneak up on me and I look for change in my life. Before cleaning my own house I was miserable and constantly living off of someone else’s misery. I think of all the time I lost by taking others inventory and not staying focused on myself and working on making a better me. I have nothing but love and compassion now for myself and others. As long as I can keep learning to forgive myself I’m always changing. Trust God, Clean house and help others.

Abandon yourself to God as you understand God.

Admit your faults to Him and to your fellows.

Clear away the wreckage of your past.

Give freely of what you find and join us.

We shall be with you in the Fellowship of the Spirit, and you will surely meet some of us as you trudge the Road of Happy Destiny.

May God bless you and keep you – until then.
